How to Create a Ballerina Bun

A ballerina bun is cute way to style your hair. This works best with light-weight to medium weight hair that falls to the collar-bone or longer.

Here is how you create the ballerina bun.

This works best with day-old hair so the pins do not slip out.

Start off by spritzing you hair lightly with water, then with a thickening spray. Create a rough, slightly messy texture by blow drying your hair using your fingers.

Pull your hair up high into a high ponytail on the top of your head. Keep it at the centre and not too close to your forehead. Use an elastic band to secure the ponytail.

Brush your ponytail backwards with a soft bristle brush.

Spritz with some hairspray and then brush it out. If your hair still feels slippery it means you haven’t back-brushed it enough.

Twirl the ponytail around your head and pin it. Check to make sure you like the positioning before securing the ballerina bun into place with additional hair pins.

Revlon Photo Ready Airbrush Mousse Makeup Review

Revlon Photo Ready Air Brush Mousse Makeup is a new foundation that works similarly to the Revlon Photo Ready Foundation. The product claims to give you a flawless finish perfect for photographs, it is suppose to blur out perfections like you have been airbrushed using Photoshop. Unlike the original Revlon Photo Ready Foundation it is a mousse formula.

The Revlon Photo Ready Air Brush Mousse Makeup comes in a bottle with a nozzle on the top. When you spray the foundation it comes out in a light fluffy mousse texture which smoothes out and becomes creamy. Revlon Airbrush Makeup is good for those who love medium to full coverage. If you prefer lighter foundations you will probably find this too heavy for your skin. It uses light reflecting pigments to reflect light and blur imperfections. These light reflecting pigments can look really glittery under different lighting, so not everyone will love this. It also can accentuate oily skin, so I would only recommend this foundation for people with dry skin. It isn’t really long lasting and you do need to retouch the foundation after 4 to 5 hours.

Overall the Revlon Airbrush Makeup is a good foundation but it isn’t amazing. I don’t recommend using this in the day time, just because it looks so sparkly in day light. Use this at night when you plan to take a lot of photos.

I give this a 3 out of 5

10 Best Tips for Stronger and Manageable Healthy Hair

No matter how long, thick or curly hair is, you always need to keep it strong and healthy to help it look its best. Follow these suggestions for lush, shiny beautiful locks that are easy to style and manage.

Drink Lots of Water

Water makes up a quarter of weight of a strand of hair. By drinking enough water, it will help keep your hair silky and shiny. Aim to drink eight to ten glasses of water daily.

A Healthy Diet

Hair is a good representation of your body’s health. Good nutrition and a diet rich in protein will not only make your body healthier but also makes your hair stronger and more beautiful.

Vitamins & Minerals

It is important to take supplements such as Zinc, Iron and vitamins A, B, C and E as it can benefit the overall health of the scalp. A healthy scalp means healthy-looking hair.

Be Careful When Styling

Make sure you keep the blow-dryer’s heat a good distance from your scalp and hair to avoid scorching and burning. Extend the time between styling and try to limit blow-drying or flat ironing to twice a week. Hair will be healthier if it is allowed to retain more of its natural oils, which can be worn-out by heat styling.

Keep Drying to a Minimal

Hair is more vulnerable to damage when wet. When drying, press hair with an absorbent towel, make sure you don’t rub or twist it. Minimize hair exposure to heat styling by waiting until it’s nearly dry before using a blow-dryer.

Frequent Trims

If hair is seriously damaged, get a fresh start with a haircut and trim off as much of the damage as possible. A trim every six to eight weeks will get rid of split ends and keep your hair looking healthy.

Gentle Accessories

Be delicate with your hair. Choose hair fasteners and accessories that won’t snag or pull on your hair.

Prevent Breakage

When brushing wet hair, use a wide-tooth comb. Wet hair is more fragile and prone to breakage. Using a detangling product can also help protect hair.

Protect When Needed

When swimming in a pool with chlorine, wet hair first to keep it from absorbing the chemicals and shampoo ASAP.

Use Special Treatments

The right products can instantly improve the look of hair. Add shine by nourishing dry ends with a deep conditioner.
