How to Get Soft Lips

Having dry, chapped lips can be not only unattractive but very uncomfortable and make a poor base for makeup, so it is important to keep your lips as smooth and moist as possible.

You can do this by wearing lip balm every day, try using a lip balm that has SPF in it to provide extra protection from the sun. Lip balms come in a variety of formulas, the lighter and thinner the lip balm formula the smoother the base is. Thinner formulas tend to make a better base for lipsticks as long as it is not too slick. Thicker lip balm formulas are best to wear alone and end to be more nourishing.

To combat really dry lips use a lip treatment product once a week. Choose a product that contains salicylic acid as this helps to gently exfoliate dead skin cells. If your flaking persists that you may need to use a lip scrub. Mix a pinch of brown sugar with a dab of lip balm and massage it on your lips to buff away the dead skin cells. Leave it on for about 15 minutes then gently brush your lips with a soft baby toothbrush. After rinsing off the scrub finish off by applying some lip balm.
