Best sunscreen for those having skin treated with retinoids

Retinoids such as Retin-A, Renova and over the counter retinol creams cause the skin to peel, therefore the underlying skin tends to be more sensitive and can burn easily. Use a broad spectrum sunblock which is SPF 30+ or higher. Try using physical UVA blocks such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide because they are less likely to irritate your skin unlike chemical sunblocks.

Best sunscreen for oily skin

For oily skin choose a sunblock that is oil-free, noncomedogenic and fragrance free. Try using a gel or spray on formula as these a light and non greasy, making them less likely to clog your pores.

Best sunscreen for sensitive skin

Use a physical sunblock with titanium dioxide or zinc oxide as they are less irritating on your skin.

Best sunscreen for dark skin

If you have dark or tanned skin stick with a transparent gel or spray on formula which contains a chemical sunblock such as Parsol 1789. Avoid using physical sunblocks containing titanium dioxide and zinc oxide as these can look grey and chalky on dark and tanned skin.
